The
Poulin Project
a project of the New York State Council on the Arts for
New York State libraries
"The Al Poulin, Jr. Independent Publishers Development
Project" was established by NYSCA in
honor of the late poet, editor, translator and founder of BOA
Editions, Ltd. .
In collaboration with the New York State Council on
the Arts (NYSCA)
Literature Program, the DUC runs The Poulin Project, which distributes
the work of hundreds of contemporary writers and poets published
by New York State independent presses. These books are distributed
in predetermined sets of 30 or more titles for free to libraries throughout New York State. The project supports
independent publishers by introducing their books to new audiences
and new potential markets, while at the same time helping local libraries
diversify their collections.
A Pulitzer Prize-winning, nonprofit publisher, BOA
Editions, Ltd. is dedicated to fostering readership and the
appreciation of poetry through publishing and widespread outreach.
BOA is just one of the many independent presses that supply The
Poulin Project with books on new writing, essays and poetry each
year.
