70 + 30 = 2000 by B. Wurtz
A thirty-year retrospective of the work of New York artist B. Wurtz, 70 + 30 = 2000 includes pieces made from commonplace objects like shoestrings, buttons, food containers, and plastic bags. Pulling them out of their ordinary contexts and incorporating them in aestheticized designs, Wurtz delicately balances the object's autonomy and the design to which it has been subjected. Though the process of the work's making is strikingly clear, the objects are never transformed beyond their basic everyday status. Wurtz seems to say that though art and life meet, they do not blur. The 24-page unbound booklet for this exhibition features 79 reproductions in color with a list of titles.

The Idea of Big
This catalogue documents an architectural exhibition initially presented at Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois at Chicago in April of 1985. The project involved 37 artists, architects and designers who submitted drawings and concepts, which were then collaboratively reproduced with a shift in scale. The Idea of Big was designed to incorporate the contributions of all its participants into something more than any single individual might have achieved. Its success is the result of the collective creative actions of individuals, and, as such, parallels the production of architecture. The 40-page unbound catalogue provides a full page for each participant with one black and white image of his or her drawing and explanation, an introduction by Stephen Wierzbowski and a poem by John Syvertstein.

Christina Ramberg: A Drawing Retrospective
Traditionally associated with the Chicago Imagists, Ramberg was a dynamic presence in the Chicago community from the 1960s until her death in 1995. Sharing the Imagist practice of quoting liberally from popular culture, Ramberg found inspiration in a wide range of visual sources, from fashion layouts and medical illustrations to tattoo books and underwear advertisements. Ramberg's work has a specific feminist sensibility, evidenced in her use of erotically charged, fetishized female imagery. The 128-page exhibition catalog contains essays by Judith Kirshner, Molly McQuade, and Barbara Rossi, an introduction by Karen Indeck and color and black and white reproductions printed on vellum.

The Complete Graphics and Multiples: Öyvind Fahlström
This catalogue offers a comprehensive look at Öyvind Fahlström's graphic work. Vibrantly colored, and densely packed with cartoon imagery and text, Fahlström‘s prints bring to life dramas of global politics, revealing historical truths about political, social, and economic issues. Fahlström describes his strategy as "orchestrat[ing] data, so people will- at best- both understand and be outraged." Through a free-form recombination and morphing of his source material, Fahlström uncovers obscured social machinations. The catalog includes an introduction and text by the artist.
